Erik - that is a good point that he trailed off last year also...and it is the dog days of August...albeit a generally kind weather year. That slash line of .158/.244/184 is sad though. And 1 homerun in 214 AAA at bats is Izturis-like...blech. But. Must. Remain. Calm. 21 in AAA. 21 in AAA. ;)

Reyes velocity is down? Then they must be juicing the gun on STO. He's been sitting at 93, touching 95.

He credits his new coaches for letting him pitch the way he wants to and says it's much nicer to go to work where they don't hate you (in so many words).

But haven't they--I don't want to use the word babied--protected Anderson in order to avoid this trend by playing him only about 4 days/week this summer?

So the question is: has having fewer playing days backfired, or is he simply slow to adjust to AAA?

Anderson tends to fade off towards the end of the season every year. I wouldn't really worry about him losing his trade value, I haven't researched this but I imagine the rigors of catching start to catch up with him as the season progresses.

Bryan Anderson has been quietly disintegrating. A myeh July (.269) and a horrible August has the favorite son w/ the tools of ignorance not looking good at all. I love the whole mantra of 21/22 in AAA, but no pop (I know...I know...it is coming) and little defense is starting to take the luster off this kid. Maybe we should have dealt him relatively high at the trade deadline. Or maybe I'm just pissy this morning.

The Daryl Jones turn around is absolutely amazing. If BB had anything to do with it, sign Kozma and the Walrus (alias B Dub) up now.

I'm also trying to gauge how excited to get over Luis Mateo. Has anyone seen this kid in person yet?

reyes succcess doesn't appear to have anything to do with getting away from tlr/dd . He isn't striking anyone out and his velocity is down. By all accounts he is still pitching to contact just getting better/luckier results
