Michael, I was wondering the same thing. But I heard he’d be there until the regular season finished. And nothing about the playoffs. And that he may be in winter ball this year. Raz kind of disappeared on us.

The first batter Motte faced (Mark Reynolds) was awesome. 4 straight cans of gas. I think it was a 98 MPH fastball up that he struck him out on. Wow!

- I thought that Colby Rasmus was supposed to be playing for Palm Beach during the playoffs. I haven’t seen his name in any of the boxscores. Anyone with an update, please share.

Jason Motte was a special sight to behold last night. I still can’t understand how he lasted down in Memphis as long as he did.

It was nice seeing Motte throw some breaking pitches. It looked like he was throwing a cutter around 91-92, which was a good complement to his fastball at 98. The hit Augie Ojeda got was actually on a splitter that came in at 83. I had thought that it was the loopy slider he was working on, but FSN showed the reply and he definitely had a split-finger fastball grip. If he can manage a 3 pitch repetoire, even if the splitter and cutter/slider are more of show me pitches than anything, it will vastly increase his effectiveness next year. Anything to keep batters from sitting on his fastball the entire game.

Thanks for a great summer of updates and interesting reads. I have only been a faithful reader for about 5 months so I am not sure what goes on around here in the offseason but I am sure it will be great as well.

Question: What kind of prospect is Frederick Parejo after the season he has just put up? It seems that everytime he plays, he produces. Just wondering if anyone has some insight or some skill ratings.

Palm Beach game was sad, the team tanked after the rain delay and gave the game away. Errors by 3B and SS.

I feel the same about Joe. I was all happy for him, getting playing time, just being out there doing his thing, then that happened. It doesn’t seem fair that some guys get the worst kind of luck. All the best to Jaime Garcia too. Don’t know if I mentioned that yet or not.
Love reading all the comments. I’m a bit bummed with the outcome of the big club’s game. *shakes head* but man, Motte was on it. Now that’s great to see. And I’ll add, go get ‘em Dunc. (sorry so long)
