A little off the subject, but just wondering if anyone knew how Mather’s surgery went? I know he’s out for the season, but will he travel with the club for the rest of the season or just recover at home? Thanks.

I’m still thinking Reifer will start in QC next year, they will need a closer and I’m sure Parisie will start the year at Palm Beach and have a shot as their closer.

I played my high school ball in the HoJo in Johnson City it’s a pretty cool field big bank in right that takes some practice to field, a huge shot to straight away, and a short porch in left. The atmosphere is pretty good for Rook ball. Also,

Lake Olmstead is a fairly new stadium in Augusta it opened in ’95. They play host to the A ball club for the Giants, and actually won their division this year. It’s got an area for kid’s and it also has a pavilion down the line in right. Overall, the stadium is top notch for any minor league park.

Don’t forget to visit the Pelicans in Myrtle Beach, I also beleive that being in South Carolina (not usre of your location) brings you close to a few teams in North Carolina.
Great to see that Batavia did well, last year was tough. This year I do beleive they had players remain that would make an impact instead of moving them so quickly.

I think our milb teams did very well in general, and what a bummer that Palm Beach (after leading the first game) had to have that game start all over. Great outing by Herron but wasted. Is that in the rules?

Not sure where TLR thinks that we might not have talent within the organization, you can’t win without it and all of our teams (besides the GLC which is used for rehab) played very competitvely. There just may not be an impact player at this very moment, as these guys are very young.

Squeegee — you would want to check out the new MiLB park in Greenville, SC, just west of downtown. The downtown is very beautiful as is Reedy Falls/Park between downtown and the ballpark. Actually “our own” Johnson City [TN] park is pleasant enough, but not a jewel.

I like historic McCormick Field in Asheville. It’s an older ballpark made distinctive in a good way by the Asheville environment.

I have a question for anybody with knowledge of MiLB in the southeast. I’m moving from Springfield, Mo., to South Carolina — just outside of Augusta, Ga.

Any must-see minor league ballparks that I need to hit? I’m fairly spoilied with Hammons Field here in Springfield, but always looking for more spots.

I’ll echo Squeegee’s thanks to you guys who come up with the information. Entering into the prospect list making season I’m really interested in what info anybody might have on the really young prospects like Parejo, Castillo the GCL guys and even the VSL guys. Even disregarding those guys I’m coming up with over twenty players who I think will have some kind of major league career. A great turnaround for the system.
