Jim Callis has his early bird mock draft through the first ten picks. The million dollar question is – will the Nats, who refused to sign Aaron Crow, pony up the megabucks needed to sign Stephen Strasburg? Callis rounds out the top ten with Mizzou right-hander Kyle Gibson going to the Nats tenth. Along with suddenly becoming a football school, Mizzou sure has become Pitcher U. as of late. Oh, speaking of Crow, Callis projects him to go to the Reds with the 8th pick.
- Shane Robinson went 3-5 with a homer. Power’s certainly not the diminutive Robinson’s forte, he hit 5 total homers in 385 at bats during the regular season.
- Brett Wallace picked up his first AFL hit with a pinch-hit single.
- Blake King threw a scoreless inning, but walked two batters in the process. He now has more walks then strikeouts. I remember being excited about King a couple of seasons ago when he dominated the Appy. Not so much now.
- Arnoldi Cruz walked, singled and scored two runs. He has been hot in Hawaii so far, with a 1.117 OPS.
- James Rapoport went 0-4 with two strikeouts, knocking his batting average from a league leading .423 to .367

Hello gents,
I am a long time reader and a huge fan of the site. I have a question for you regarding Arnoldi/Tony Cruz. He had another awesome night at the plate last night and his bat has been fairly strong throughout his career, but does he have what it takes on the defensive side of things to be considered a good prospect? I know he has played 3B and C this year, do you know whether he is above or below average at these positions, and which do you see him sticking at going forward? I can’t remember reading any scouting reports about this (and am too lazy to root around for them).
Thanks for you help and keep up the good work.
