This isn’t prospect related, but congrats to Pujols. And where was Mo on Jeremy Affeldt?
- Shane Robinson hit another walk off single for his only hit in 5 AB.
- Brett Wallace doubled and walked. From a slow start, Wallace is now up to .310/.368/.575.
- Tyler Norrick pitched a perfect inning with one K.
- Amaury went 0-for-4. On the upside, he figured out the solution to the world’s energy problems.

Congrats to Albert! Another unbelievable year. If it wasn’t for Bonds, he’d had at least 2 more MVP’s.
Good to see Wallace’s numbers start to come around.
I don’t care what Mo has to do, I just want to see Pujols retire a cardinal.
I can’t help but wonder what Wallace’s numbers mean for next year? If Glaus goes down, do you think him or Freese get called up first? Right now, I still think Freese. But if Wallace has a strong spring, I could imagine him being the first.
have to agree erik…
if mo was really serious about upgrading the bullpen, affeldt should be a cardinal now, not a giant. i hope i’m wrong and something else is in the works. but is ohman a better choice?
anyway, tnek makes my day/night? with his comments. if stl lets albert reach free agency, i will turn in my fandom card. the yanks offer cc a truckload of cash — pujols will get the choice to buy an island.
freese will be the call-up if he is still a redbird, but does mo think about trading one of the three prospects more or less now that 3b is clearly a strength?
I disagree – I’m glad the Cards didn’t go after Affeldt. He is very talented, but w/ the LaDuncan regime he would have been a LOOGY. $4 mill/year for a LOOGY is bad business.
Heard Affeldt on XM last night. He seemed to like the idea of going out west b/c he’s from somewhere out there (caught the end of the interview).
Has there been an announcement on when Amaury unveil his plans? I personally think he has developed a plug that can be inserted into his heart.
