Brian Walton, of Scout.com, has started his own personal Cardinal blog called The Cardinal Nation.  Besides being a fine writer, Walton often gets some good scoops from the Cardinal front office so there’s another reason to keep an eye on his blog.

Two posts to point you to specifically.  The first, which may become invaluable during the season, is a roster matrix for the ENTIRE farm system.  I’m a huge fan of other people doing work that makes my life easier and this certainly falls into that category.  The second post details some releases that the Cardinals made in the low minors — no real prospect of note.

I’ve seen it. Very well written and organized. Another great Redbirds source of info.

Carlos Pupo’s bulging biceps disagree with your statement.

That roster matrix is pretty impressive… Of course, what jumps out at me is that Jameson Maj is listed as a starter for the QC.

  4. Nick says:

Nice rotation at QC with Hooker, Lynn and Castillo. Wonder if Castillo will start the year at PB instead with Gorgen taking his place at QC?

Back at you azru, erik and the crew here. Future Redbirds is on my short blogroll list for a good reason!

I wanted to make a few comments on the matrix. The levels should be considered where the organization has the players penciled in now, before camp. The positions are my designations, primarily based on where guys played the most last season.

For example to address Liam’s point, Maj started more games than he relieved both at Batavia and QC last season. So for now at least, he is still a starter on the matrix.

OT but I am surprised you have not mentioned that Luke Gregerson won Set Up Man of the Year down in the Venezuelan league.
