To answer Gary...can't happen he throws from the left side.

This interview is definitely the real Tyler. A good ball player and a better person in every facet imaginable. Good luck Tyler and thank you FR for introducing Cardinal Nation to this phenomenal young man.

Tyler Henley sounds like a heck of a kid and the kind of player that fans would love; however, I did not hear the one question that could put him in the Cardinal picture in the near future. Can he and is he willing to learn the second base position?
Do young players such as Tyler ever volunteer to try playing a position which has few prospects in the farm system?
Having a hard nosed player in the middle of the infield sounds like a natural to me.

                                                                   Thanks,

My son went to high school with Tyler; Henley was a few years older. I can tell you Tyler was a Quality person in high school. A standout academically and true stud on the football field and on the diamond and by all I heard a really nice guy. I have been glad to see him do well in at Rice and the Cards farm system. I just wish the Texas Rangers would trade for him. It would be cool to have a hometown star play here every day. Whatever happens, good luck to him in everything.

These Q and A's are great. It's impressive how thoughtful these young ballplayers come across in these pieces.

Thanks for the interview erik and Tyler. I hadn't realized what a great first half Tyler had last year...especially playing in PB which is a hitter's graveyard. The outfield depth in the system is unbelievable. Hope Tyler keeps it up and makes the decisions harder.

I like the football player mentality in baseball players. Brian Jordan comes to mind.
