Barring a major story developing, I’m gonna give things a rest for a little while. I figure it would be a smart thing to do as with spring training and the regular season on the horizon. I’m thinking I’ll be back in a couple of weeks. AZ and Roarke may chime in here and there in the meantime, but right now, I’m gonna chillax a bit. That’s right. I said chillax.

Seems that you have taken on quite a bit in the recent weeks. That can lead to a quick burn out huh? As long as your not going away forever and the site isn’t closing up shop, have a fun time off.
it’s not so much burn out as i have been a little too distracted and have some other priorities. one of those would include finding a job, since i’m running out of work as a sub-contractor. looks like i have something lined up already, hopefully it does not fall through. either way.
i’ll definitely be back, maybe sooner than later, we’ll see.
haha….probably not the best timing for what I’m going to provide here.
I created a “favicon” for future redbirds. Where I work, we do these things quite often. Erik, if you’re interested in me sending it to you, reply to my email. It didn’t take long to create….so no worries either way.

It’s been a stone cold groove, erik. See you on the flipside.
Enjoy the vacation from blogging. Hope you’ll be back soon.
How dare you stop using your free time to constantly post free unparalleled content… i do all the heavy lifting by showing up reading and posting a smart-ass comments…seriously though thanks for all the great stuff all of you guys post…ill still check-in everyday just in case but how can i be upset if it is dark for a couple weeks when every other day is AMAZING!
how about the club releasing kennedy and having an open competition from within? That could somewhat shorten your hiatus. Thanks for everything.

or the short of it is: Thurston and Barden are meh, but so is Kennedy, so it’s not a big loss. I think Ryan stinks and it’s pretty obvious TLR doesn’t like him either. And who knows what to make of this Skip to 2B development, but it does open the door wide to rasmus.
In the end, I think and hope they sign ray durham. he’s cheap and he hits for moderate power/ob%
I’d like to see Tyler Greene. Just to have a Greene-Greene middle infield. So I can listen to the “casual know-it-all” fan try to figure it out.
I’m with erik here, I think it’s gonna be Durham.
dont know if anyones seen this or not http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/stories.nsf/cardinals/story/32EA0199DADBAD4E86257558006575D7?OpenDocument
Cards Release Kennedy!!!!
Now if hes picked up by another team do we still have to pay him?
yes
More completely, St. Louis has to pay him whatever his contract entitles him to beyond the league minimum, which the new team must pay. It’s the difference between $4M and $3.6M — gigantic to most of us working stiffs, but down in the noise for MLB.
thanks for all of your good hard work Erik! I always check Future Redbirds first.
good luck on the hiatus.
