The explanation about Perdomo seems reasonable. My reaction upon hearing the news after the draft was "WTF! There goes what's left of our former #1 prospect." But Vuch's explanation makes sense. The Cards lost out on trading Reyes at his high point...better to just let it all go than put Perdomo on the 40 man and have that create a whole new set of problems for you (options, other players/pitchers left unprotected). And like the man says, there's no guarantee we won't get him back anyway.

Great interview. I have my doubts about Greene as well. His skill set seems to be similar to a fellow Greene - Khalil. That would be his upside. His downside is coaching JV baseball somewhere.

Nice comment by Shhh. Tyler "sexy tools" Greene. I like it! Can a 25-year-old fix a hole in his swing that's probably been there since tee ball? I wonder what the Cardinals are doing to help cut down his strikeouts because fixing Tyler G could really aid the team.

@BigJawnMize, Thnx, BJM. While I asked most of the questions, this time some of them came from Aaron and AZ. I really think interviewing has become my favorite part of the blog. I really like getting different perspectives.

And I always enjoy talking to Mr. Vuch, he's always very quick about getting back to me, and he puts a lot of thought into his answers. He really is a "good guy".

Good stuff guys.

But Tyler Greene has turned the corner? I mean he was an above average hitter in the AFL, but he also struck out 30% of the time as a 25 year old. He was a slightly below average hitter in Springfield, then obviously was bad in Memphis. I'm not so sure on him. That being said he obviously has some sexy tools with his speed/power combo and being able to play SS.

Love the interview. Keep up the good work guys!

Here's to hoping our system rises again next year in the rankings, despite losing Rasmus, Perez, etc. on the rankinggs due to them spending too much time on the active roster.
