The comparison isn’t intended in terms of age or stuff or style rather in terms of fans. Hearne put up some sick stats that created unrealistic perceptions and expectations; I think Castillo has done much the same thing.

Azru, by equating Castillo to Hearne, I take it you see him as a guy unlikely to duplicate his gaudy Quad Cities ERA numbers from a year ago? If so, is the comparison really apt given that Castillo is four years younger than Hearne was when he was at Quad Cities?

Speaking of Jones, the Springfield News-Leader has some new articles up from spring training, including one about Jones, and one about Tyler Greene.

Another nice surprise, aside from Pham, would be Donovan Solano hitting for some power and/or taking some walks.

maybe he decided to follow jones and get some lasik himself. Having seen both players, i actually like Pham’s athleticism and set of tools a little better. certainly more power and a stronger of throwing arm.

For the love of god please let this be Tommy Pham’s break out season. The kid has all of the potential in the world and he is off to one heck of a start, even though this is just spring.
Jones and Pham are the reason why you take high school high upside talent in the draft. This year Pham, next year Ferrara.
