It took a while, but finally we are kicking off the college wrap.  Every Monday from now until the draft either myself or Picklefork will provide you with a run down on how some of the top college prospects in the country performed over the weekend.  This class isn’t nearly as strong as last year, but there is some talent especially at the top.  Everyone knows the Cardinals’ preference for college players, so it is likely some of the top picks for the birds this year will come from players profiled in this update.  Check them out after the jump.

The player links will take you to the milb.com draft profiles.  These are a great source for scouting reports, and most have a short video clip.  Once you are there you can also check out the high school players they have profiled already.  We will be giving you a run down on the top prep players as the draft nears.

Nice work as always few, I will add one of my fav’s to your list if you dont mind

Robbie Shields (2B/SS) Florida Southern (2nd/3rd rounder likely)

    .346 avg
    5 HR’s
    31 RBI’s
    28 BB’s + 10HBP
    22 K’s
    1.012 OPS
    9 for 12 SB’s

Could be a Luhnow choice, is a gamer with a good OB%, makes contact with tick above avg speed and may stick at SS, if not an offensive 2B. Also hit well in a short stint out at the Cape, the Cards love the Cape kids.

  2. Grant Green would be nice to have.

Little bit of a stretch but has anyone seen this:

Florida High School Pitcher throws 4 no-hitters

And has anyone seen this guy or got information on him? He hasn’t turned down going pro out of high school so where might he go in the draft?
