This here be May! I’m going to where sandals and shorts and close my eyes really tight until the weather matches my attire. I’m pretty sure it will work. . .
Not that there’s a lot to spoil, but the new X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie was at times great and really bad. There’s not much plot, which is fine by me for this type of movie, but someone needs to let them know that they don’t have to use special effects from the 90s. We’ve got new technology that makes things look . . . you know. . . plausibly real. Still worth a stop to the theater but it was much more on the caliber of X-Men III rather than I or II.
It’s rare to find a day when Mather doesn’t have a smile on his face or is not in a talkative mood.
This is usually shortly after he’s ground some Englishman’s bones to make his bread.
“It’s something that comes with age and experience,” Mather said. “You’re going to struggle at some point, so you’ve got to go through it. You’ve got to learn what gets you out of that slump, whether it’s throwing a trash can, or taking a break and breathing for a second.
Punched any bullpen phones lately? Always worked for Taveraz.
“There’s a bunch of guys in the big leagues that are superstars that are hitting about .129 now, too,” Redbirds hitting coach Mark Budaska said. “So it happens to everybody.”
Dude, you’re in the Cardinals organization and you offer up this quote? The last time someone pissed of Albert he hit a homerun on the next pitch. Ask Daniel Cabrera if Pujols slumps. If Albert lets you live long enough to ask him, that is.
“It was a bummer being sent down,” he said. “It just kind of snowballed on me, I think. I only have myself to blame as far as that goes.”
Didn’t we string Colby up for that last year? Anybody got any left over rope?
Mather said he visualizes himself succeeding.
I visualize myself dating Olivia Munn. ZOMG, it worked. Forget this DFR, I’ve got business to attend to.
- Jon Jay was 1-for-2 with a pair of walks.
- David Freese was 1-for-4 with a long ball.
- Joe Mather visualized on 1 out of 4 at bats. Visualize harder Joe.
- Donovan Solano went 2-for-3 with a double.
- Allen Craig was lucky that they hit him with a pitch or he might have earned a golden sombrero. He was 0-for-3 with 3 Ks.
- Evan MacLane, recently acquired non-prospect, tossed 6 stellar inning striking out 8 batters. He gave up just one run on a solo home run among 5 hits.

I realize I’m the only one who’s worried about Brett Wallace but I’m wondering why. Yes I still think he’ll be a good hitter but the problem is that’s not good enough. To be a really big impact player, which is what we need from the acknowledged #2 prospect in the system, he’s got to be a great hitter, a better hitter than any of our recent third basemen, to make up for his limited defensive skills. Take his opening day out of his stats and he’s been pretty mediocre, with oodles of strikeouts in a great hitting environment. Here’s hoping he shuts me up real quick but I’ll worry till he does.
Also I’m old. Who’s Olivia Munn?
When I was in college, I used to watch a TV show called “Attack of the Show”. It was a pop culture/tech/geek humor type of show and she co-hosted. Simply put, she might be the most attractive individual I’ve ever seen. Google Images is your friend.
It was nice to see Solano and Bolivar step up to the next level and produce two base hits each in their first games at higher levels. It’s also nice to see Swauger whipping on the ball for QC. He was a stud at Batavia last summer but seemed to be largely overlooked.
great game from gorgen. he got a little bit of a late start, but i think he is this year’s jess todd.
Attack of the Show is still on……….and Olivia Munn is still the epitome of hot.
It’s still on and I tune in on occasion but it used to be a given of my schedule in college. And yes, she’s still stunning.
I had the chance to see Olivia in person at the Star Wars Celebration a couple years ago. She was wearing leather. Leather.
Who says hot chicks don’t hang out at SW conventions?
Kudos for admitting you were at a star wars convention my friend. Takes guts.
Thank you Azru,
Olivia seems very nice. Reminds me of a girl I dated in the seventies. Had to end it because she was a Cubs fan. No regrets.
