Man oh man, I wish La Russa would go to 11 pitchers and 3 middle infielders. Every time I look at the big league roster right now, I shake my head.

that’s a good point on interleague but I’d expect Duncan to get the DH spot with Rasmus taking over LF for those games.

i don’t think calling up allen craig would have been a bad idea — with the looming interleague series in two weeks, we were going to need to go back to 13 fielders and 12 pitchers. the timing would have been perfect for calling ankiel back from the DL and dropping a pitcher, to keep craig on the team indefinitely.

while his defensive skill makes him a better late inning outfielder than schumaker or duncan (or a good defensive substitute in right or center in the event of injury to rasmus or ludwick) , i don’t like the idea of calling up a sure-to-regress bat.

His hitting tendencies sound a lot like one of favorites growing up…one Willie Mcgee.

Now I’m just having some fun here, but sometimes I think we can get too caught up in the #’s. Sometimes you just need to trust your eyes. Maybe Mr. Robinson is a kid who’s finally figured it out, or maybe he’s just a kid who had a fluke season.

Willie was 23 when he hit the show, here’ s hoping Robinson winds up resembling Willie and not Hoffpour.
