Adams and Racobaldo are pretty late round guys from small schools, wouldn't call them prospects but they could use a better challenge, agree w/you there. Stock is just 19 so he may stay all year in the Appy.

Bittle has signed, probably not going to pitch much this year with shoulder issues. I'd bet Bibona goes back for his senior year. Miller will sign on the last day, which is probably the 17th.

VSL and DSL stats? Not a lot of stock at all. They can be called up any time.

1. Maybe last two weeks of the season. IIRC, that's about when Niko got a promotion last year.

2. Aug. 17th this year. Miller yes. Bibona, I would think so as a College Jr., but who knows. Bittle has been signed. Think I remember seeing something about not assigning him anywhere until Aug. 1. Maybe to give his shoulder some rest.

3. Very little. Not sure about the callup to GCL or JC. I would think so, but there may be an age limitation.

Few questions for those of you more knowledgeable about the farm system than me.

1. When will guys like Matt Adams and Richard Racobaldo get called up? They are SMASHING Johnson City pitching and are obviously in need of a new challenge, similar to Matt Carpenter earlier this year. I think even Stock is almost deserving of a call-up with the way he has been playing..

2. Is August 15th the last day to sign draft picks? If so, do you see us signing Shelby Miller, and Daniel Bibona. IMO, Bibona is a huge sleeper for a 16th round pick. Also, has Bittle been signed? I have seen a report that he has, but he hasn't registered any stats and doesn't appear to be playing yet.

3. How much stock can you put into VSL and DSL statistics? We have some interesting prospects playing well and I want to know if we should expect big things in the future or if it's just because the VSL and DSL are so weak. Hector Garcia-3B (VSL), John De Aguas-RP (VSL), Javier Avendano-SP (VSL), Grabiel Hernandez-SS (DSL), Jose Pasen-P (DSL) are a few guys I've been watching. Also, can these players be called up to play in the GCL or Johnson City this year if they are deemed to be playing well enough?

Sorry for all the questions and thanks a ton for anybody willing to answer any of them..

Attended the game in Batavia. Edwards battled through his 6 innings. Gave up a few hits but kept Mahoning Valley off the scoreboard. Nico looked great at 3rd base. Flashed the leather several times, once saving what would have been a run scoring double. Jackson at short also looked very good in the field.

Nico is just above the mendoza line at bat. When he connected, he hit the bat hard. He's just flailing at a lot of pitches though. His double was a hard hit ball down the opposite field line.

First look at Jonny Bravo. Kid is SHORT. Looked like a little leaguer when talking to his coach on the mound. Did a great job though.

Always an entertaining night at Batavia.

It's not totally up to date but BRef is a good starting point. I'll see if I can get around to tracking all the 2009 draftees.

Is there a way to see exactly how many 2009 draftees have signed and exactly where they were assigned? I can't tell who's new and who's just obscure

I am glad that Moz is somewhat balancing TLR out here. I don't know if thats how it is going down or not but at least when our veterans struggle we give opportunity to our young guys.

YU-know-who still has no walks on the year. He hits a dinger before he walks, which makes sense, I suppose.
