Today’s DFR is brought to you by the In Plain Sight season finale, the most contrived storyline to create drama I’ve seen on a television show in a while. That is, of course, outside of your traditional series finale that creates a storyline completely out of nowhere and leaves the viewer feeling cheated of one last good episode.

PitcherHits8 has a great blog entry about a Night With Quad Cities.  Not sure how he got to a baseball game since that would require leaving his mother’s basement. Hmm.

Springfield 1, San Antonio 2 (13 innings)

Palm Beach 4, Fort Myers 2

  • Adron Chambers had a double and 2 RBI.
  • Osvaldo Morales picked up 2 hits in 3 ABs.

Strong night for our starting pitching……Im impressed with Scott Schneider, he had a 1 hitter going into the 6th, but gave up a 2 run HR to ty the game in the 6th. Today was his first start for Quad City

So he still lives in his mom’s basement does he? Well there goes the HPGF’s reputation!

    • HL says:

It is common knowledge that all bloggers with fake names live in their mothers basements.

Also, it apparently is uncommon knowledge to Firefox that bloggers is an actual word and is spelled correctly.

Choo choo goes the Matt Adams bandwagon. Just holler if you want on!

  4. Picked this up in Yahoo’s college baseball coverage, for what it’s worth:

“Well, the Aggies have their sights set on three high school prospects and a JUCO prospect. The high school prospects are Shelby Miller (1st round, St. Louis), K.C. Hobson (6th round, Toronto), Todd Glaesmann (3rd round, Tampa Bay) and John Stilson (19th round, Minnesota). An industry source told us Thursday that Glaesmann likely will ink a deal with the Rays this weekend. Sources close to the situation informed me that there is very little chance Miller goes to college, a 50-50 chance Hobson goes to college and a very good chance Stilson, a JUCO transfer, will go to A&M.”

  5. Um, thanks for the link?

    Mom says hi!

Good thing I wasn’t at last night’s game, would’ve kept me out past curfew.

Can’t wait to see how Calhoun holds up next season against better competition.

Why’s it always have to be mother’s basement. Can’t father’s get some love too?

  8. Wade says:

Maybe Nico only likes to play in August.

BA just released a report on “Double A Best Tools”. This is a member only area but what they did is have all the managers in Double A ballot on all these different categories. As everyone knows the Double A level has a TON of talent right now and some of the expected names took multiple categories like Heyward, Chris Carter, Desmond Jennings, Jarrod Parker, etc. They broke it down by Double A league…so you had Eastern, Southern and Texas. Two categories found some of our own Springfield Cards. For Best Defensive 2B – Colt Sedbrook. And the next might put to rest one debate that happens on this site fairly often. Best Defensive SS – Pete Kozma. It appears regardless of his stats the manager thinks is defensive tools at SS is best in the league. Grats to both our players for getting recognized.

  10. JC says:

BA also release the Triple A report. Same scenario. Best Batting Prospect – Brett Wallace (at the time of the votes he was of the Memphis Cards :( ). Best Reliever – Jess Todd (also a Memphis Cards member at the time of voting). No other Cards prospect was mentioned on this list.
