Blake King got to pitch one inning on Sunday in Springfield against Arkansas and did very well.....1 hit(single)....1 BB.....2K's and no runner got past 2nd. I thought that Blake should have been allowed to pitch another inning since the game didn't mean anything...but I don't guess the manager thinks the same way that I do.

Yea I agree, seems that Reifer and Daley have got some control back. Was looking at the Palm Beach website, looking at the monthly breakdowns. Reifer had a horrible May that has weighted down his numbers for the year. Hopefully King and Daley are turning it around in Springfield. Not even sure when Samuel is coming back.

If Reifer, Samuel, Daley, and King are all together in Springfield next year there are going to be some wild late inning rides with their walk totals!

Reifer has been very strong in the last month or 2 with maybe 2 real bad outings. There is a reason hes going to be playin in the Arizona fall league. The organization thinks hes for real and wants him to develop further. Wonder who will be the closer next year in Springfield, Reifer or Samuel?

Craig has a groin injury and may not be available for either the PCL playoffs or a Cardinal callup. Too bad. He was tearing things up at the plate, and it would be good to see how his bat translates to the majors.

I've read several articles about Reifer and all tout his competitiveness and closer mentality. Of course that could just be coming from him - kind of like Bittle telling everyone that he has no serious injury.

Quick Comparison:

Player A: 23 y/o in the Texas League .294/.361/.483 for an OPS of .844 and a wOBA of .373

Player B: 24 y/o in the Texas League .301/.365/.480 for an OPS of .845 and a wOBA of .380

You're probably never going to guess who player A is, so I'll just tell you. Player A is Rockies 4th outfielder/should be everyday player Seth Smith(2006 season), one of my favorite players no one really talks about. Player B is Tyler Henley

Seth Smith has been a 3 WAR player so far this season in only 271 ABs. That is some nice production, but for some reason, Rockies managers continue to play Ryan Spillboroughs instead.

I guess I am just trying to point out that Henley has some good company in terms of Texas League stats. If he turns into a 3 WAR 4th outfielder, he has a lot of value. With no Ank and no Dunc, Henley has an outside shot of making the team as a LH OF bench bat. He probably needs time in AAA, but I think that Smith's success shows that Henley has a shot at being a contributing member of the St. Louis Cardinals in the next couple years
