They don’t re-org the draft based on bonus paid. If they did, STL would not have a “first round selection” in most drafts.

I know that Blake king was drafted in 2005, but did not sign until 2006 after playing one year in junior college. He was 18 when drafted but 19 when signed. When will the rule 5 apply to him? Another question is that he was drafted in the 44th round, but turned down the cardinals offer and played one in in junior college where he led the nation in strikeouts. He was drafted under the “draft and follow” label and signed before the cardinals had to use another draft choice to get Blake signed. Why is Blake said to be a 44th round draft selection when he was paid closer to 4th round money?

Last year he was a 24 year old in AA, and he had nearly a walk an inning… plus opp hit .303 against him.

Again, this in no big deal, since the cards gave nothing to get him… I’m just saying that I don’t think this guy will be a big leaguer
