I don't think Ferrara will be there to start the season -- too many college pitchers from last years draft and not enough spots at PB. Also I'd guess we'll see the 8 man rotation at QC and probably PB to start the season. I'd guess Ferrara will see QC after they sort out which of the older guys aren't going to make it.

As I look through that minor league camp roster, I'm crossing my fingers for the mid-round sleeper rotation at QC. After Miller, I think there's a good chance we can see Ferrara, Hooker, Zawacki, and Blazek. Then I would have to make the 6 hour drive and spend a weekend there.

Not sure what column "A" is. It looks like a list of minor leaguers who played in the US last year who were not invited but it contains errors. Perez, Russell, and Shepard and a few others are also on the invited list. Arrendano, Torribio, and Rigoli were all released last year, Josh Wilson is in the same restricted list as is Jamie Landin but is no where to be found. Ahmady of course is still in our system but suspended for 50 games.

On the spreadsheet, please ignore the minor league players listed under Sheet 3 and the last column under the Full Camp. That list is players invited to extended spring training camp in 2009 and has nothing to do with the upcoming 2010 season

Craig is really intriguing because his offensive potential seems so high and nobody seems to have any grasp re: his defense at any position. And Shane is right. If he was left handed he'd fit right into the plans. Holliday's siging makes it more difficult to see him get a chance. For some unsubstantiated reason I just suspect that he will get a chance at the major league level and will generally succeed. Hopefully he can do this without benefit of major injury to our outfield corps.

I agree that more catchers are needed for Camp, and most likely most of them will be sent down to AA or AAA, and I think they have chosen the best available in the minors. I was surprised that Cutler wasn't really shown as a prospect, but I think that he will have a good year. I also agree that Allen Craig should make the majors this year at some point. He has shown consistency throughout his career. I didn't know several of the players, but I assume they have been picked up after the season. The one name that I saw that confused me was Kozma....please let me know what the requirements are to be invited to the Big League Camp. I also agree with Samuel being invited...I have seen him several times and his pitches really move and I know that he will take care of his control issues.

I haven't always been a big Allen Craig fan, but I have to say I would be pretty disappointed if he doesn't make the big club this year. He has done nothing but produce offensively in the minor leagues. Looking at his minor league stats really reminds me how good and consistent he has been. If only he was left handed...

No big surprises here that I can see, keeping in mind that there are always lots of catchers invited to the big-league camp who have no chance of sticking but are needed to get pitchers aired out at the beginning of camp. Wouldn't it be fun, though, if Cutler or Anderson or Stock picked this month to begin hitting a ton?
