I’m sorry, what? Bryan Anderson, St. Louis Cardinals? I could not be more surprised if I woke up with my head stapled to the carpet. Much like Kaz Matsui found himself yesterday morning!

Springfield had the night off, so let’s get to the DFR!


Memphis 2, Iowa 5
Tyler Green and Jon Jay both went 1-for-4 with solo shots. Jay also stole 2 bases.
Tyler Henley went 1-for-3 with a walk.
Lance Lynn took the loss with a 4.2 IP outing. He gave up 4 ER on 4 H, 5 BB and 2 K.
Tyler Norrick gave up the other ER in his 2.1 IP. He struck out 2, walked 2 and was hit three times.
Matthew Scherer finished things off with a clean inning, striking out 1.

Palm Beach 4, St. Lucie 5
Jose Garcia went 1-for-4 with a BB.
Matt Carpenter was 1-for-4 with a RBI and BB.
Osvaldo Morales and Alex Castellanos were 2-for-4 with a run scored. Alex picked up a double as well. Morales swiped 3 bases.
Oliver Marmol was 1-for-3 with a RBI and BB.
Brian Broderick took the loss giving up all 5 runs, all earned in 5 IP. He surrendered 6 hits, one of which was a HR, a walk and struck out 3.
Matthew Frevert pitched 2 innings, walking 1 and striking out 1.
David Carpenter struck out 2 in his 1 IP.

Quad Cities 4, Clinton 2
D’Marcus Ingram was 2-for-4 with a RBI and run scored.
Jason Stidham cranked the ball for 2 hits in 5 ABs.
Niko Vasquez was 1-for-2 with a RBI.
Devin Shepard was 1-for-4 with a double.
Ivan Castro was 1-for-4 with 2 runs scored. He stole a base.
Luis Mateo was 1-for-4 with 1 RBI and a stolen base.
Eric Fornataro picked up the win with a dazzling 2 H, 1 BB and 3 K in 7 IP.
Christopher Corrigan actually picked up a hold despite giving up 2 ER on 3 H and a 1BB. He struck out 2.
Jesse Simpson picked up the save.

    Lynn has had a pretty rough go of it these last few weeks. Maybe Carp should take a look at him and see if he’s tipping pitches or has some arm slot issues. I swear, it seems like our minor league pitching coaches aren’t very effective at their job… but maybe it’s just that Dunc has spoiled us so much.
