Pick any two games and it’s shorter than the Cardinals’ game last night. Memphis will not see any roster moves according to John Marecek of the Big 550.
Archive for April, 2010Catching up on Friday’s games. I’m just back from taking an 8 hour test. My brain hurts and I’ve been detached from the internet for over 24 hours. And my cell phone died. It was like living in the 1980s or something. I’ll get caught up tomorrow with Friday’s games and Saturday’s games. Promise.
The godfather is stepping in with some early draft knowledge. Word to your respective mothers. There’s a new SBN blog out there that’s worth subscribing to in you RSS thingy called MLB Bonus Baby, a site dedicated to all things MLB draft. Mock drafts are fun, and usually wrong, but it gives us something to talk about. In Andy’s latest mock, he has RHP Matt Harvey going to the Cards.
I remember Harvey from the 2007 draft, and seem to remember we all sort of wanted him. He was sort of our Shelby Miller before we had Shelby Miller. Here’s some video of him in action: And here’s his stat line via collegesplits.com
His scouting report, in a nutshell: 92-95 fastball, putaway curveball, developing change. Happy Bryan Anderson Day (belated)! Like a British Prime Minister election, these can sneak up on you and pop up out of nowhere. Yesterday was apparently the day. Sadly, there was no triumph to report, nor any funny pictures to put with it. On to the DFR For those of you concerned, it was not him. I’m sorry, what? Bryan Anderson, St. Louis Cardinals? I could not be more surprised if I woke up with my head stapled to the carpet. Much like Kaz Matsui found himself yesterday morning! Springfield had the night off, so let’s get to the DFR! In a fairly surprise move, Memphis catcher Bryan Anderson has been called up to the majors to make his major league debut. He was called up over Matt Pagnozzi who was the last catcher to be moved down from major league spring training. Backup catcher Jason LaRue is headed to the DL. What do you think of the move? Good move? Or should Anderson stay in Memphis and get regular ABs? The farm system went 2-2 and Palm Beach played a team named St. Lucie, who is abbreviated STL. Boy, was that confusing. On your mark, wait for it… go! |
