Memphis was rained out.
- VEB member scoot, UID: 2111, has a first hand account here.
- Daryl Jones continues to struggle going 1-for-5.
- Jim Rapoport was 2-for-4 with a double and a walk.
- Colt Sedbrook was 3-for-4.
- Adron Chambers was 2-for-4 with a double. Chambers who made his way on the backend of several prospect lists currently has a ~.700 OPS.
- Nick Additon got destroyed on the mound. He allowed 7 hits and 2 walks over 4 innings for a whopping 7 runs. 5 of the runs came from homeruns.
- Blake King allowed 2 hits and 1 walk while striking out 2. He worked 2 innings.
- Chuckie Fick struck out 2 in a scoreless 7th,
- Matt Meyer struck out 3 over 2 IP.
- Tommy Pham was 2-for-4 with a walk.
- Jermaine Curtis was 2-for-4 with a double.
- Richard Racobaldo was 2-for-5 with a double.
- Alex Castellanos was 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles.
- Nick Derba was 2-for-4.
- A solid outing for Jared Bradford who went 7 innings allowing 7 hits. He struck out 3 and walked 1 while allowing 3 runs.
- Francisco Samuel, working his way back from extended spring training and some shoulder discomfort, picked up the save with a 2 strikeout scoreless 9th.
- Quad Cities drew 13 walks. That’s a rather remarkable number to draw and still lose the game.
- Matt Adams and Ryan Jackson both had a double.
- Michael Blazek couldn’t get out of the first allowing 4 runs on 3 walks and 3 hits while retiring just 1 batter.
- It was likely a tight strike zone as Quad Cities pitchers walked 9.

The back end of the Palm Beach bullpen is very good right now, with Mulligan dominating and Samuel rehabbing.
Chambers OPS is .703 — the exact same as DEsmond Jennings has right now :)
Actually the number to watch with Chambers is OBP not OPS. If he can keep his OBP in the .370 range he might make it the majors due to his speed.
I read that Pop isn’t going to put up with the defensive blunders.
Where does Chambers relate in terms of talent to say at Daryl Jones?
My opinion is that Chambers has moved at least equal with Jones as a prospect. (of course I wasnt very high on Jones by the end of last year). Mind you I haven’t seen Jones for a couple of years nor Chambers at all in person. But from what I can gather Chambers may be faster, seems to have a slightly better arm, his OBP skills appear to be slightly better, but Jones probably has more power. Most importantly, Chambers seems to still be improving where Jones seems to have leveled off if not declined.
That makes sense, I don’t see Jones as levelling off but dropping dramatically, he came back too early last year to play in the Futures Game and was still hurt. Right now he’s not even cutting it in AA ball.
Fingers crossed on Pham. He’s now a little old for his level and is repeating the FSL, which is a double grain of salt…but if his newfound batting eye is for real, he might become a legit prospect. Is there room for him at AA?
