@CRay: I think Walters and Otto may be in a competition to see who gets to stay when Penny is ready to come off the DL. Pitching in San Diego (Walter's start) is sure a much safer proposition than Wrigley. I bet the brain trust is looking for a way not to have Otto make his MLB debut in Wrigley. We'll see how it shakes out.

@CRay: They can call up if there is an injury which is the only reason they would call him anyway. That is a non-excuse excuse. If they want to save him, call up Hamilton to be available to PH. Lots of options they could do that help the team that have no downside.

@cariocacardinal: cardio - if the Cards call up Craig, say, now and send him down on Saturday, they can't call him back up for 10 days. I think the Cards may send Otto down after his start Saturday and then call someone else up until Penny is ready to come off the DL. It could be Craig or Salas (or Kinney) depending on what they see as their greatest need.

So the Cards aren’t calling up Craig/Hamilton or Kinney until Saturday why? To save maybe $10K? God this organization is cheap.

Exciting anytime a prospect gets called up, but it’s especially true of first rounders. Adam could be in the Cardinal rotation for a long time, let’s hope he’s ready

Hopefully he sticks up here and even if he doesn’t hopefully he takes some meaningful advice from DD and Carp back to Memphis with him. I really believe that Ottavino will be Penny’s replacement next year.
