Good to know but where did you get your info? I talked to Media Relations and Hooker is starting tonight, is Miller pitching with him tonight?

Miller is supposed to start being paired with Hooker in the tandem so we may seem him the night of Hooker´s start.

Mulligan is struggling a little at AA but his FIP there is near 2.60 which is not terrible.

All things said about Journell here were true. I saw him a number of times in the minor leagues and he was just awful. Perhaps not an awful pick but definetly a failure of a player and organization.

IIRC, the only reason Journell was a 4th rounder was because he was coming off TJ surgery. Otherwise he would’ve been a first- or sandwich-round pick. At one point I believe he was considered the best closer in college ball. I’m working off deep memory, but I’m pretty sure it was considered a bold pick at the time, and for a while, as others have noted, it looked like it was going to pay off.

It wouldn’t surprise me to learn that the Cards completely botched his development. Those were dark, dark days for those of us who follow these players from start to finish.

millers elbow is bugging him, thats why hes been out. he is day to day. he took a week off throwing and has started again.

I saw Journell hit 99 for 2 innings when I was with a scout at a college game. He was as
nasty as they come prior to injury. He was worthy of a 4th rrd pick.

Dang. If Joe Kelly pitched Wednesday, he won’t be up again till Monday. He was one of the pitchers I really wanted to see this weekend when I’m up in Quad Cities.

@Andrew I was just taking a stab at why he isn't in the rotation. The organization isn't always eager to share in the facts.
