US Open weekend starts today (yay! early weekends). I think there is something else happening this weekend too but I’m sure I’ll remember it eventually.

    Fick looks like he is figuring it out. the Cards have a lot of RHP’s who have at least some upside in their system. add Blair/Swaggerty, the LHP’s in this draft, and the upside athletes, and the players in the DSL and VSL, the system is looking up to me. It seems the drafting approach has changed some, they are learning to add in the higher upside players. will be interesting to see a top 30 prospect list next year, depending on who signs and who is making progress this year.

    HL – you may be confusing your all-star breaks. We are already after the FSL all-star break!

    Fick’s improvement seems based almost solely on his tremendously improved K rate. I cant recall ever seeing that before. Not sure what the true details of his improvement are (increased velocity, better control, a new pitch).

    DSL team lefty that has recorded almost 2 so per IP. Does anyone have any scouting info on Rodriguez?

    I was going to say something about Matias.
    16 IP 7H 1 ER 1 R 3 BB 21 K
    All three walks came in one appearance and he still gave up 0 runs.
    I think he’s ready for a promotion in a start or two if he keeps this up.

  8. Andrew says:

    He can’t go anywhere until he gets verified and gets his Visa.

  9. Tackle Box says:

    @Andrew:

    Doesn’t mean he’s not ready for a promotion… ;-)
