After the jump, here’s as much information we could find about the very late round draftees by the Cardinals.

Round 41 – Chase Reed – RHP
6’3” 212 lbs 5/17/88
Vanderbilt University

Vanderbilt has him as Chase Reid and Baseball America has him as Chase Reed, but I assume they are the same player.
ERA 3.46 7 starts, 3 saves. 66/14 K/BB ratio.  From Vanderbilt’s official site:

Coach Corbin Quote: Chase has been a mainstay on our staff since his freshman year. We have given Chase the ball in many tight situations and he has responded well – he enjoys pitching with the game on the line. He has pitched in various roles because of his versatility and array of pitches, but could be used as a starter this coming year. He will be a key factor to our success this spring.
He’s a junior and as of 6/15 unsigned. He was drafted in the 42nd round out of high school, so he only improved his rating in the eye of the scouts one round in three years.

Round 42 – Larry Brand – RHP
6-2 218 lbs  5/16/1992
Bradley Central High, Cleveland, Tenn

I’ve found absolutely nothing on this kid; they have him on the school website as “Cole Brand”.  He has signed with the Cardinals already.

Round 43 – Chris Edmondson – OF
6’0” 200 lbs 4/7/1988
Le Moyne College

Here’s his line from College Splits:
Edmonson hits left-handed and plays left field.  He has already signed with the Cardinals.
Here’s what the LeMoyne athletic site says about Chris:

An All-American and the Division I Independent Player of the Year in 2008, Edmondson finished his career with 224 hits, 44 home runs, 178 runs batted in, 139 runs scored, 49 doubles and 10 triples over 197 games played. He ranks first on the program’s all-time charts in home runs, runs batted in, triples and games played. He also places third in doubles, fifth in hits and sixth in runs scored.

Round 44 – Adam Melker – OF
5-11, 180  1/31/1988
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo

Round 45 – Robert Hansen – RHP
5’11” 155 lbs  11/23/1991
Beech High School

Hansen is a Vanderbilt signee, who is a big Cardinals fan because his dad is from St. Louis.
From the Tenneessean:

The 5-foot-10 Hansen posted a 13-2 record with a 0.62 ERA, five shutouts, eight complete games and 155 strikeouts in 782/3 innings. Opponents batted .136 against him, and he was named the MVP of District 9-AAA. Hansen was drafted by St. Louis in the 45th round. He threw a perfect game against Portland. Hansen’s best pitch is his slider, and his fastball has great movement. He is consistently in the 87-89 mph range.

Round 46 – Peter Mooney – SS
5’8” 170  8/19/1990
Palm Beach Community College

Mooney is an intriguing player, because very similarly to Ryan Jackson last year, he has a very advanced glove at the shortstop position.

He was 1st team all conference and the National Defensive Player of the Year at the shortstop position, earning himself the Gold Glove.

Mooney has signed as a JuCo transfer to South Carolina.
In this South Carolina baseball article, the SC coach gives us Mooney’s scouting report:

A Rawlings NJCAA Gold Glove winner, the Loxahatchee, Fla. native also has some pop in his bat.

“If things going as expected, he’ll have every opportunity to be our starting shortstop the 2011 season,” Holbrook said. “He’s very good defensively and can really swing the bat as well. He’s a top of the lineup, leadoff, two-hole, or even-three hole hitter. Even though he’s five-foot-seven, he does have some power. He will hit homeruns for us even though he’s a middle infielder. He’s a really good all-around player.”

Round 47 – Justin Wright – LHP
5’9” 175 lbs  8/18/1989
Virginia Tech

8-5 with a 4.42 FIP in 98 IP. 100 Ks and 33 BB in 2010. His numbers are even slightly better than that through park and schedule adjustment.

Round 48 – Hector Acosta-Carrillo – C
6’1” 215 lbs  7/10/1990
Coffeyville Community College

Hector signed with University of Arkansas Little Rock for next year.

Acosta walked 34 times and was hit by 15 pitches while accumulating a .556 on base percentage. Acosta led the Ravens with 38 stolen bases, 68 runs scored, five triples, and a .665 slugging percentage.

From BJ Rains: He stole 38 bases this year and set school records for hits, singles, triples, runs, average, on-base percentage, walks and stolen bases.

Round 49 – Robert “Bob” Revesz – LHP
6’4” 200 lbs  7/16/1988
Louisville

Bob pitched 34 innings in 2010 with a FIP of 4.06. He struck out 20 and walked 14. Admittedly, he doesn’t have the best stats, so the scouts must have seen something they liked.

He was drafted in the 30th round out of high school, so he has gone downhill since joining Louisville. Bob has already signed with the Cards.

Round 50 – Andy Moye – RHP
6’5” 180 lbs  9/11/1987
Georgia Southern

Andy Moye at least knows how to strike people out with 73 Ks and only 32 walks in 77 innings. His FIP was high at 6.08, but mostly because he allowed 2 HR per 9. And of course, it also looks like he likes to experiment with facial hair as well.
