Both of the Springfield games were rained out last night (they’re behind like 3 games on the season — triple header!) but Palm Beach had a double header so we’ll cover a full slate.
- Mark Hamilton, who has accumulated under 100 ABs in Memphis due to injuries, was 1-for-3 with a HR and a walk.
- Bryan Anderson was 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles.
- David Kopp got touched up for 6 ER on 9 hits and 2 walks in 3.2 IP.
- Eduardo pitched a scoreless 7th allowing 1 hit and striking out 2.
- Josh Kinney pitched a perfect 8th striking out 1. Kinney seems to have his act together after a wobbly start to the year. He’s currently striking out nearly a batter an inning with a 3:1 K:BB ratio.
Palm Beach 5, Lakeland 0 (7 innings)
- D’Marcus Ingram was 3-for-4 with a double.
- Charles Cutler was 2-for-3 with a triple.
- Kevin Thomas picked up the win with 5.2 IP allowing just 3 hits while striking out 5. Admittedly, I do not know much about Thomas’s pitches but he’s put together a good season with 49Ks in 52 innings and groundball tendencies. He is, however, walking more batters than you’d like to see.
- David Carpenter pitched 1.1 innings allowing 1 hit, 1 walk and striking out 2.
Palm Beach 8, Lakeland 1 (7 innings)
- D’Marcus Ingram was 2-for-4.
- Xavier Scruggs homered in his only hit during 4 ABs.
- Jared Bogany was 2-for-3 with a double.
- Jared Bradford pitched 5 innings allowing 1 hits and striking out 3.
Quad Cities 5, Lakeland County 1
- Luis Mateo was 2-for-4 with a double.
- Ryan Jackson had himself a night at the plate. He went 3-for-3 with a walk and a HR. The next Alex Rodriguez?
- Ryde Rodrigeuz was 2-for-4.
- A superb outing once again from Deryk Hooker who tossed 5.1 innings striking out an impressive 9. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits and didn’t walk a batter.
- Aaron Terry pitched a scoreless 9th striking out 1 and allowing a walk.
- Mike O’Neill was 2-for-3 with a triple and a pair of walks.
- Colin Walsh was 3-for-5 with a triple.
- Adam Melker was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk.
- Andrew Moss had a rough outing walking 3 in 3 innings of work. He was touched up for 4 hits and 4 runs.
- Chris Corrigan struck out 4 and allowed 4 hits in 2.1 IP.
- Jose Rada, who at 22 is old for the league, pitched a 1 hit, 1K 9th. He’s struck out 22 in 16 innings at Batavia walking just 4.
- Patrick Elkins was 2-for-6 with a pair of doubles.
- Chris Edmundson was 2-for-5.
- Romulo Ruiz was 2-for-4.
- Philip Cerreto was 3-for-5 with a double.
- Reggie Williams JR. (10th Round draftee) was 2-for-5 bringing his season OPS to .590.
- Trevor Rosenthal tossed 5 innings allowing 4 hits for 2 ER while striking out 3.
- Charllan Jimenez pitched 3 innings striking out 2 and allowing 1 hit.
- Aidan Lucas struck out 2 and allowed a hit in his inning of work.

REALLY getting excited about Hooker. I think he definitely gets a call to PB before Miller, as he should.
They were working on Hamilton in RF earlier in the year before he got hurt, I think the organization wants to see if he can play RF and possibilty stay with the Cardinals before using him as trade bait., he can really hit but seems more like a AL type player.
The next ARod! Thats pretty funny! I as well am excited about Hooker and think is is getting close to ready for a new challenge. Even though our system lacks star power we have more very intriguing players than I remember us having in the past.
seen hammie a few time in ST and i’d say has the best swing of any of the minor league guys (t greene was the worst), so i think there is hope for hammie. if stav can play outfield, so should hammie
Why isn’t Tyler Bighames playing yet?
Hurt his shoulder and had to have shoulder surgery.
Out for season?
And another question, is it better to be with the Johnson City Cardinals or the GCL Cardinals?
It appears to be………..JC is better…… Order is VSL, DSL, GCL, JC, Bativa, QC, Palm Beach, Springfield, Memphis
I love using “Eduardo” as a Brazilian-style nickname for Sanchez.
