Yeah I just got back from the Dominican and got to visit the Yankees site east of Santa Domingo. People need to realize that these teams are about the equivilaent of good showcase teams. Meaning that there are a one or two future major leaguers on the team but mostly these teams are filled out with kids that might play some level of college ball if they were in the states. Better than scouting High Schoolers but not by much.

It is really too bad for Ottavino. SLAP injuries are very hard to diagnose. If they can actually find it on a MRI he has a decent one and will definitely need sugery.

Can anyone give me a scouting report on Ramon Delgado? He’s been terrific this season and I literally know nothing about him. Seems like a promotion should be in his future shortly

At the Scout.com site they indicated that Martinez is a strong candidate for promotion to the State (Gulf Coast League probably) because the Cards like to promote a couple of their best players from the Dominican, presumably as an incentive, each year. They suggested Martinez and Matias as soon as he gets a visa.

looking at the stat’s from the DSL, there is a Bryan Martinez, who is posting similar numbers to Matias. In the VSL, Diemer Bier is also posting good stat’s. does anyone know about these two pitchers?

JC leads the Appy League in almost every offensive category after 26 games — runs, hits, total bases, walks, BA, OBP, SLG. And they have the second-fewest strikeouts. I can’t remember a JC team ever dominating like this, even if it’s just half the season. At first I thought it was because they were using college players, most of whom in past years would’ve started in the NY-P. But maybe the age-appropriate players are better, too.

Daryl Jones is really starting to fall out of any prospect conversations. I’d be interested in seeing what scouts or a guy like Keith Law (who was once high on him) say about him. I’ve only seen him once this season in person, so I’m in no position to judge how he’s regressed.

haven’t we been waiting for Bombs to be our own JW for 5 years now? i know he can’t help the injuries, but isn’t it about time we let that dream go? and i say this as a huge Bombs fan, i’m just not convinced anymore he’s ever going to be our JW

Perez is at Batavia. It is good to Ruiz swinging the bat well after his injuries. He is playing mostly 3B now. IT would be nice if he could return to the middle infield if his shoulder allows it.
