Not sure I want to open this can of worms, but: Is there anything that’s common to all of the people in the farm system who’ve had drug issues, other than that they’ve had them? For example, were they all at QC or Batavia or VSL, etc., together? Were they all scouted by the same guy, or patients of the same medical practice? Anything like this would be worth winkling out, which I presume the franchise is trying to do. I don’t know whether the number of cases of drug problems in the Cardinals’ system is unusually high (or low) by MLB standards, but on one level, ANY such cases are too many, and a root-cause analysis would be worth while.
Whatever the answer, it’s a sad end to the dream. I hope Mr. G is able to get his life together.
Would you please print a list of all Cards minor league players who have been released this year. Thanks
