That was my impression of Hooker the only time I saw him pitch when he was still with QC. I was assured this was not a typical Hooker appearance, and I have to say, his numbers and boxscore’s do support that. Hopefully, he just had a bad night.

I’m not sure I was aware though, that Jackson had been promoted.

Really…you must have set the bar petty low for you to say he is out hitting your expectations. Still a pretty awful hitter.

Wallace doesn’t have a good BB:K ratio, and I think a lot of scouts thought it would develop better at this point. He’s a sub-par defensive guy whose best position is first base, is projected to hit for a pretty good average, walk marginally, and have average power. In other words, his skill set at his position isn’t exactly rare. A guy with the talent he had with his bat coming out of the draft doesn’t float around from club to club like this if scouts haven’t soured somewhat on the potential he has at the plate, combined with the limits he has defensively.

The package sent for Holliday doesn’t look so steep anymore.

One would think so. He “should,” quote unquote, be tearing up that league, given that he’s a major-college product, but it’s still required that he actually do it.

Any reports out there on his fielding skills? If BR is to be believed, people aren’t running on him — 4 attempts in 14 games as a catcher, with a 50% gun-down rate — but that is hardly conclusive evidence as to what kind of catcher he is.
