If anyone knows a player linker that actually works and updates their stats more than once every 6 months, please pass it along as FirstInning seems to have killed theirs.

On to the DFR!
Memphis late game in progress
- Matt Carpenter went 3-for-5 with a 2B.
- Andrew Brown went 2-for-4.
- Aaron Luna went 1-fr-4 with 2 BBs.
- Pete Kozmanaut went 1-for-4 with a RBI.
- Jose Garcia and Chris Swauger picked up the other RBIs.
- Without having seen Lohse’s outing and not knowing what he may or may not have been working on, the numbers were not good. Other than the fact that Lohse was able to throw 85 pitches, with 57 of them for strikes (and 4K), he also yielded 5 ER in 5 IP against 12 H.
- Scott McGregor, who as a child probably thought every cheaply made basketball and tetherball had his name on it, cleaned things up with 4 IP of 3 H, 1 K pitching.
- Brooklyn may have lost tonight on So You Think You Can Dance, but they scored enough runs to beat the Muckdogs 3 times.
- Joseph Bergman went 3-for-4 with a RBI.
- Matthew Valaika picked up a H and RBI.
- Christopher Edmondson hit the lone XBH, a 3B and had an RBI.
- Andrew Moss took his second loss of the year, going 4 IP with 10 H, 5 ER and 1 BB. He struckout 6 but his undoing were 2 HRs.
- Houston summers I can only imagine are miserable with the heat and constant buzzing noise anytime someone with a last name that starts with a B does something. Likewise, Houston Summers pitching wasn’t very good tonight with 5 ER, 6 H, 1 BB and 1 K while only getting 2 batters out.
- Matthew North gave up another 3 ER in the game while walking 2, giving up 2 H and striking out 1 in 1.0 IP.
- David Kington pitched 1.1 IP with 2 H, 1 ER and 2 K.
- Keith Butler struckout 2 in his IP.
- Much like a Gleek party, an awful lot of singles in the Riverbandits game tonight.
- Luis Mateo went 1-for-5 with a R.
- Rainel Rosario went 1-for-4 with a RBI.
- Ted Obregon Trail, Ross Smith, Matthew Adams and Devin Goodwin all had hits.
- Justin Smith took the loss with a couple snowmen, 8 ER on 8 H in 3.2 IP. He walked 2, gave up 3 HR and had 5 K.
- Daniel Bibona Baggins pitched 3.1 IP with 1 H, 1 BB and 1 K.
- Mr. Big Chris Notti struckout 2 in 1 IP. He gave up a H.
- Jose Rada struckout the side in his IP.

DSL Cardinals threw a no hitter today with Carlos Matias going 7 innings with 1 walk and 8 strike outs. Does anyone know that status on signing him? And what level do you think he will be pitching at next year?
Meanwhile, down in the DSL, Matias and a teammate pitched a no-hitter against the A’s affiliate. Matias’ line: 7 IP, 0 hits, 1 BB, 1 hit batter, 8 K.
As long as I’m hyperventilating: In the GCL, Roberto De La Cruz was 3-4, 2 HR. He’s up to 7. Anthony Garcia also went yard, his 5th.
De La Cruz is at .250/.286/.491. He’s finally showing the power that earned him a 7-figure bonus. But the plate discipline might be years away.
Love to see both those bonus babies being successful (even on the same day!)
I will be attending the Springfield v. Tulsa game tonight. Looking forward to it. Anyone know who is pitching for Springfield tonight?

A few notes from last night’s abomination that was Batavia vs. Brooklyn.
Overall, not an impressive showing by anyone. I’m not a scout by any means but the pitching was really, really bad overall. Andrew Moss has okay stuff but had bad command and his offspeed pitches were only fooling the least accomplished Brooklyn hitters. He does use an sidearm slider that was pretty effective late in counts.
I will try to be a nice guy while describing Houston Summers by saying I hope I caught him on an off night. His delivery is beyond strange, with almost no leg movement. Is he a knuckleballer? If so, his has no movement. If not, he throws a 55 mph change up. Last night, he was uncompetitive. Matthew North had the best stuff of all the Batavia pitchers I saw, but again, no command. Just an awful showing.
The offensive side wasn’t much better but to their credit, they battled back from a big deficit just to watch their pitching staff fall apart. Matt Valaika looks like a good athletic kid, he made a nice running catch in right field. My impressions on Nick Longmire were that he needs to gain some weight, he’s really tall and skinny, surprising really given his past power. Also, his swing will need some work, it’s pretty long and he will struggle against higher ceiling pitching if he doesn’t make some changes to shorten it up. Joey Bergman had the best offensive game and has a nice approach at the plate. Chris Edmundson has some real raw power. Pat Biserta has a really aggressive swing. The only guy who really caught my eye was the catcher, De La Cruz. I really like his swing, he has a good approach at the plate and made a really nice pick off at first base.
Not a great night – fortunately I got to watch Darrell Ceciliani & Cory Vaughn, both who have really impressive offensive profiles for Brooklyn. Ceciliani might be a major leaguer in a couple years.
Man Kozma made his 31st error lastnight. I don’t know if anyone here was a Mariner fan back in the 90′s so you might not get the reference, but that’s Russ Davis-esque
