I believe that Ottavino has choose not to have surgery and is instead rehabbing. I see him in the dugout all the time so I’m not sure if that means hes working with the team trainers or what.

Also, Pagnozzi, MacLane and Robinson are apparently on the 40-man. Whilst I quite like MacLane, there’s basically absolutely nothing lost in letting any of those guys walk.

Along with Freese, I’d say there’s no problem putting Ottavino on the 60 day DL. He’s had a SLAP tear (IIRC) that requires surgery. He’s not going to be back this year, and perhaps not for some of next. Gotay’s likely gone next year anyhow (along with a number of other 40man guys) so the crunch is less of an issue after this season.

Jenkins has let the Baylor football staff that he won’t be playing football. Someone from Waco mentioned him signing on Aug 13th. Looks like a done deal just waiting for the commissioners offer to approve and the amount over slot will make it so that he can sign on the 13th.

Saw that too. . .I don’t have any info to add, other than it said “Jenkins turns down chance to play for Baylor” or something to that effect. So either the deal is signed, or it’s about to be. Sweet. Now we need to get Wilson and Cox locked up and give this system two legitimate offensive prospects to join Miller, Jenkins, Matias, Blair and Bryan Martinez.

Thanks. That’s probably a good thing he hasn’t pitched in awhile considering how much college coaches usually ride their best pitchers.
