Swauger’s catch was fantastic. He went up and got it. It would have tied the game if he had not caught it(1st inning).

Thought Carpenter’s shot was a lazy fly when he hit it. Had good strength to get it out because it didn’t sound good off the bat. He definitely has room to grow into his frame. He almost seemed skinny. He had better speed than I imagined.

What do people think of Scruggs? He hit a BOMB to dead center. Banged it high off the batters eye in Tulsa.

Chamber’s OPS is about the same as super prospect Desmond Jennings (both at AAA). His wOBA is higher. Both were born the same month. Does this mean Chambers will be a top 100 prospect by BA this year? :)

Any recent news of draftee signings? It’s getting about time for Cox, Jenkins and Wilson to either do it, or not.

I agree with you 100%. I think the hitting coach and pitching coach have done wonders with the players who have asked for help. I think your description of Carpenter is “Spot On” and if he could bulk up to Matt Holliday’s frame, he would be “all world”. I think this Springfield team is poised to win the league this year. The starters, relievers, offense and defense are as solid as I’ve seen for years in the Cardinals farm system. Keep this team together for a few more weeks.

Springbirds in a heated race with Tulsa for playoffs, I doubt Carpenter or anyone else will go anywhere.
I saw Carpenter last year in PB, he was impressive then.

Swauger jumped the wall to rob Tulsa of a 2 run HR.

The Cards will probably want Carpenter to collect 500+ at bats at AAA,. Freese had 2 seasona at AAA.

Cerreto is another example of the Cards drafting a player with good numbers from a backwater college, like Racobaldo or Curt Smith. He can bully younger kids in the Appalachian League and help at higher levels.
