Hopefully the live blogging feature can become something that our growing contributor list can utilize when they actively get out to the ballpark. It’s always good to let people know the more descriptive details of a play that might not show in the boxscore.
The site hopes not only to become more informative over the next calendar year but also more interactive.

Gast’s started well, as have Bibona, Longmire and Stanley. I guess next year will be more instructive as to what sort of prospects they are but our middle round picks from 2010 looks better than the 2009 ones already.
What was Matt Scherer doing down in A-ball? Last I saw he was in Memphis. Has he been rehabbing an injury this year? I’d kinda assumed they’d cut him.
Yeah, I think he is on a rehab stint at Palm Beach, since he has been on DL at Memphis.
Yes it appears the 2010 draft is heading in the right direction. Still, we have not seen the top 5 guys from it. So much hinges on them.
I thought Ahmady was put on the DL a few days ago?
No he was actived from the DL a couple of days ago. Since he has come off the DL he has been playing 1st, not 3rd. So I don’t know if something is wrong with his right shoulder.
Am I the only one wondering if Kinney has done enough for a Sept Call up? He was on the 40 man roster but it seems he no longer is but he is striking out batters at a rate of over 8K/9. Not saying he is a savor or anything but looks like a decent arm to add for bullpen depth, and he does have postseason experience which could come in handy for a stretch run.
is there even room on the 40-man roster to add him? I mean, considering I highly doubt they’ll dfa Miles or Winn or MacDougal just to get Kinney on the expanded roster.
For this year I do not think the 40-man is the issue when it comes to bringing people up in September. The club has many fungible commodities on the present 40-man roster that could be expunged if Kinney were to be called up.
-Evan MacLane
-Matt Pagnozzi
-Shane Robinson
These are the most expendable in my opinion and they are unlikely to be claimed. Even if they were I think we could replace them internally without much problem. I might even include PJ Walters in that list as I am skeptical that he ever becomes a productive major leaguer. (Hopefully I am wrong on that. Go PJ!)
Robinson was outrighted off the 40-man when they purchased Steve Hill’s contract from AA.
3 Cards on the BA Hot Sheet this week … well, 2 with a man among boys
River Bandit manager really lit into Eric Fornataro in this morning’s paper. Said he is not listening to the manager and pitching coach and he has guys behind him really to fight and battle but he doesn’t seem to want to do the same.
wow. just read that.
I wonder what’s that all about?
