I think Chambers falls into the “needs to put in more time” as Pinch stated. In looking at Memphis’ stats, he hasn’t hardly played. Not sure why you would bring a guy up and let him sit. They should have sent him back to Springfield to play on a more consistent basis much like they did Luna.

I would like to see Carpenter in the AFL. I think the number he’s put up show he needs to get a look.

Kozma is eligible for the Rule 5 draft. Most HS players drafted the year he was are not but he is because he was already 19 at the time. It is actually based on age the time of being drafted/signed rather than whether HS or college.

Dickson has put in too many innings, plus being in AAA he’s already faced rehabbing ML and potential ones as well. I don’t think the AZL is just about “earning a spot”, anymore. Plus I notice players get younger and younger every year.

The AFL’s purpose has changed. A ML scout told me that it’s used primarily now for those that need to put in more time (but don’t want them to go out of the country), and for those that the organization want to show off, for potential trade or as someone else pointed out, considering protection. Perfect example would be Brent Wallace. Kozma, as far as I know is not eligible for the 5 year draft, so for him just could be more work for improvement or it’s time to consider him for a trade. I also don’t think that Cox was drafted for the big league club, but rather for an important trade like they used Wallace.

I am kind of in question about Broderick, he has logged a lot of innings, will be interesting to see if he really shows up, though he won’t pitch much, he still will have to throw daily and do bull pens, he I could see on the taxi squad.

Will Shelby Miller be going to the AFL? How many players are sent to the AFL as “taxi squad”? It seems to me that Dickson has earned a spot to the AFL….maybe he will be on the “taxi squad”. It also seems like Hill and Carpenter earned a spot to the AFL. These young players need to find out if they can play with the closest to becoming major league players.

Nick Greenwood with an 8.2 GB/FB ratio at QC over 20.1 innings, which is beyond ridiculous.

Be curious to see how Chambers does in the AFL. I got him on the back side of my Top 10 going into next year and think he is fairly underrated.

Cox will most likely go to the AFL. Brett Wallace went the year the Cardinals drafted him.
