Tyrell Jenkins appears headed for BaseballPosted by azruavatar in 2010 MLB Draft, Tyrell JenkinsLooks like Tyrell Jenkins is headed for baseball. The Cardinals 3rd pick overall indicated to Baylor football coach that he won’t report for pre-season drills. The Cardinals have yet to announce an agreement with Tyrell Jenkins but all indications are that he’ll sign this week. (Thanks to Dustin Mattison & 2xAught7 for the tweets linking to the Baylor report.) I’m planning on making a run to several minor league games over the next month. In the next four weekends, I’ll be hitting up Memphis, Springfield and Quad Cities. Next weekend will be either Memphis or Springfield depending on the weather. Memphis is in a high scoring game out west. I’ll update in the morning. Memphis loses a high scoring affair against Vegas. If anyone knows a player linker that actually works and updates their stats more than once every 6 months, please pass it along as FirstInning seems to have killed theirs. This is a picture of Adam Wainwright trying to figure out what those two guys are pointing and laughing about… On to the DFR! Thanks to mysterui for the heads up on this video of Carlos Matias. Matias has pitched 55 innings in the Dominican Summer League. He’s struck out 70 and walked just 13 batters. The impressive 18 year old will celebrate his birthday next month. Carlos Matias from Luis Valdez on Vimeo. FirstInning’s player linker is down so you’ll have to traverse their website to get stats for individuals today. We had a misfire on the DFR for last night. (Hurry back Jeff!) I’ll pick up Monday & Tuesday games tonight in a DDFR. Sorry for the inconvenience. |
