Broderick had a solid game and the Surprise defense is very good at every position. Delgado struggled, but the coaches are asking the pitchers to throw more fast balls in this league than the pitchers normally would during their seasons. King was slated to pitch on Monday, but was called into this game in the 8th with two outs and the bases loaded. King handled the pressure and threw 6 pitches (four for strikes) and got the hitter to pop up to the catcher in foul territory. The Surprise team should get better and start winning more consistently with the talented players that I saw on this team.
Kelley,
You said here that you were just a coach who was a fan, you are out in AZ watching? You must be some fan!
I said that I was a past coach of one of the players and I am a fan. I go to many games, spring training, playoffs and many other events since I am retired. I plan to travel back to Arizona in November and I am “some fan”! I enjoy watching the games for myself whenever I am able, instead of just following someone’s recap of the game where you miss some of the important game situations which add to the performance of a player or lack thereof. I know that all of these players have worked hard most of their lives and they deserve as many positive comments as negative ones in these blogs. They all will not make the big leagues, but they all strive to!
