The thing they saw in Wilson was the same thing they saw in guys like Nick Weber or Clay Mortensen. Wilson threw a sinker, which bumped him up the Cards’ board. At least, that’s my read.

Seriously, isn’t it “late movement” they always preach? Maybe the movement — much like a Wiffle ball — is easily predictable. Just guessing.

If I had a million dollars for every time I read that Webber had a “mid nineties fastball with whiffle ball movement” I’d be able to pay Albert. I still don’t understand how a pitch that could be described like that could be so hittable by minor leaguers.

Ugh. That is an awful ratio. Three RHP selected, all misses. No wonder we have to sign the Kyle loshe’s of the world to ridiculous extensions
