It says much, though, that the single largest group of comments has to do with formatting a web page, doesn't it?

Anyway, I agree, thanks, everybody. The long winter of the soul ends in a few weeks ... but sunshine, baseball style, is needed until it does.

There's a line in the site's CSS that sets the margin and padding of EVERY page element to 0. This style is being applied to each table cell, overriding the table's inline cellpadding value.

If this line of CSS is not part of the back-end stylesheet, it would explain why it previewed properly before publishing.

I agree that his route will be more Boggsian. I hope he keeps site of the fact that obp is his ticket to a starting job in the majors and doesn't think he needs to satisfy the standard power expectations for third basemen. He won't be Boggs but, if reports are right, he might be better defensively.

I think it's safe to say we are in agreement, azru, so you can probably guess which line is mine. I wonder about his power, as do most, but the funny thing is I always thought of him as David Freese 2.0. Freese broke out to the tune of 26 HRs and a .911 OPS when he jumped from A+ in the Padres org. to AAA Memphis, a jump largely attributed to his advanced age: 25. Still, I see Carpenter taking a different, more Boggsian route to prospect-stardom.
