Community Projections: Shelby Miller
Posted on February 7th, 2011 by azruavatar in community projections, shelby millerWe’ll project our #1 prospect this week. I’ve debated what assumption to make regarding his level. Let’s say that the Cardinals are aggressive with Mr. Miller and he gets his wish playing the entire season at Springfield. Projections should be in the following format:

For what it’s worth, ProjectProspect just named Shelby as the number one pitching prospect in baseball, ninth overall.
Unfortunately he was the only one on their Top 100 prospect list.

Full-year in Springfield would be a lot to ask of him IMO.

Agree he’ll probably start at Palm Beach. There’ll be some growing pains if he goes to Springfield but nothing to worry about.

If he spends any significant amount of the second half in Springfield next season than I expect that home run total to go up to around 20.
I doubt he gives many long flys up in Palm Beach though.

I dont have a good guess, but his K rate is bound to drop after Duncan getting a hold of him during Spring training!
Hopefully, management doesn’t let that happen as Duncan will be gone by the time Miller hits the Big Leagues. Miller is someone I don’t want pitching to contact.
