Looks like CHAM stock made a huge jump today.

Mathew Leach has twitted that he is investing heavily in TGREE as he expects his stock to make a big jump this year (I assume that he is seeing/hearing insider information on the ground in Jupiter).

SHEL stock got a big boost this morning when the Baseball Prospectus Top 101 list came out, and he was at slot #15. The bad news: he was the only Cardinals farm hand on that 101-name list.

Not sure I’m assuming that he’s going to get a shot at AA on the chance that Pujols leaves after this year and Adams will get a chance to replace him in a few years. I’m assuming that Cruz, Kozma, Cox, and Pham.

If Adams starts in Palm Beach, no I doubt he gets any protection again. The starting Palm Beach team will essentially be the same team as QC in the first half of last year.

Right, I think I remember seeing that interview. Taken at face value, it at least partially addresses the concern. On the other hand, Big Mac had 162 walks in 1998 … Do we have any idea yet what the A+ and AA rosters are going to look like? Will he have any “protection” on either?

Adams manager in QC addressed the lack of walks issue in an interview last year. Adams was pretty much THE only offensive force for QC during the first half of the year. He carried the team. The manager likened him to Big Mac in 98 where he was virtually the only bat in the lineup. Because of this Adams frequently went out of the zone in order to try to drive the ball rather than take a walk.

One possible reason is that Adams has not shown much plate discipline. A guy who only draws 33 walks in over 500 plate appearances may have some free-swinging tendencies that more advanced pitchers can exploit. Also, while he wasn’t “old” for the league, he wasn’t “young” for it either, the way, say, Mike Trout (who hit rings around him before being promoted) was. That said, I too will be interested to see how he progresses this year.

He’s not higher probably because he came from Div 2 baseball and wason’t a high round pick. That and he’s obviously blocked if we resign Pujols. I believe he will start making more of a name for himself this year as he dominates Springfield.

I don’t think the Cardinals will win a bidding war on Rasmus and I’m not convinced he’s had such a good experience here so far.

Whoops, I typed that up in a hurry, replace Descalso with Craig for RF or sign a big name FA….

Regarding Rasmus, with the lineup that I posted above, we’d have more than enough money to sign him long term with all of those cheap options.

Side note, it’s really confusing as to why Matthew Adams is not higher up on any prospect lists that I’ve seen, the guy had an amazing line in A ball this year and did well last year also. It’s not as if he was to old for the leauge that he was in.
