It really does make you want to root for him even more. Plus, I can relate a little bit. I “chased the dream” in minor league baseball too, but working in the office. I started in Single-A with the Astros org, before moving to Double A with the Mariners. Both times I lost my job after the team was sold.

I know people sometimes think it’s a glamorous life, it is after all, still professional baseball even if it’s just the minors. But it’s rough for some of these guys that have families, especially if you are not a “blue-chipper”.

In 2009 when he was here is Springfield, his wife was a member of the Springfield Lasers which is a World Team Tennis team. Wish him all the luck this year and beyond.
