Quad Cities was rained out for the sixth time this season and must be approaching some sort of record for rainouts in April. I’m not sure who keeps track of records like that, so I’ll leave it up to our faithful readers. I’ll make whoever comes up with that bit of info poster of the day!* Confirming what was already suspected, John Vuch indicated to me that Adam Reifer’s knee injury will require surgery. He’s likely out for the rest of the regular season though there is a chance that he could participate in the Arizona Fall League. Adam Reifer had been moved into the closer’s role following the promotion of Fernando Salas and Eduardo Sanchez to the major league team. Shortly thereafter, Reifer injured his knee coming off the mound to field a ball. He’ll conclude the year with a somewhat odd stat line. In 6.1 innings, he allowed 7 hits, 1 walk for 1 ER but struck out just 1. He did show strong groundball rates during his brief 2011 effort. Reifer had shown improvements as he moved up the minor league organization posting a better than 3:1 K:BB rate for the first time in 2010. Reifer will be 25 in June. Memphis vs. Iowa, 11:05am: Lance Lynn Springfield vs. NW Arkansas, 6:07pm: Kevin Thomas Springfield vs. NW Arkansas, TBD: Nick Additon Palm Beach – No Scheduled Games Quad Cities @ Wisconsin, 6:35pm: Zach Russell The farm went 1-2 today, while Springfield was rained out. You’ll probably want to shield your eyes when coming across Shelby Miller‘s line, and parents may want to send their kids out of the room. I’m going to experiment with something in my next few DFR’s. I’m adding scouting reports of prospects playing that certain day against our teams. In the interest of time, I’m going to limit writing to who’s listed on Baseball America’s Top 10 for their respective team and will help rely on what BA has to say about each player. I’ll most likely expand beyond the Top 10 if I receive a good response, so let me know. Palm Beach dealt with some rain during their game while Memphis picked up a decisive win.
