Once a week KMOV poses a questions to a group of bloggers. It’s generally about the big league club and there’s often a great deal of consistent themes among the answers. You can read this week’s here.

2011 RostersPosted by azruavatar in Memphis Redbirds, Palm Beach Cardinals, Quad Cities River Bandits, Springfield CardinalsThe clubs completed their minor league Jupiter games and spent yesterday traveling to their respective homes. All four full season leagues start this week and, as always, we’ll be bringing you daily updates recapping the games and player highlights. With Jaime Garcia’s masterful performance over the weekend, I though it would be fun to go back to early 2010 before h broke into the majors and see what people were saying about him. More intra-organization games today. Some very nice stats from a couple of guys that might help the big club this year.

Farm Director John Vuch Radio Quotes 4/3/11Posted by azruavatar in John Vuch, Radio HitsJohn Vuch made a radio appearance on KTRS 550 this morning with John Hadley. You’ll find some paraphrased notes from the interview below the jump. I’ll preface these notes with the fact that, as Farm Director, it would be shocking to ever hear Vuch say something out and out negative about a player in the system. This is completely normal and Jeff Luhnow’s interviews — or any other club official for that matter — are often similar in this regard. So when Vuch tries to sell , say, Matt Adams as a respectable defender . . . . I’m skeptical but acknowledging of the role that he plays is, at least in part, Optimist-in-Chief of the Farm System when making public statements. A winning day of 4-0-1 for the minors. On to the details. The Cardinals fielded teams for a pair of scrimmage games today. The results feature more strikeout artists in the low minors. Shelby Miller ALERT!
We saw how shaky the big league bullpen can be and how opportunities may present themselves to younger guys as the season progresses. Likewise, that dead weight we have at 1B may be an issue that needs addressed soon as well (snark!). On to the DFR! |
