More ground balls and line drives will generally result in a higher batting average on balls in play than a higher than normal fly ball percentage (though the fly ball percentage will lead to more power obviously). 

If a player has a little speed, it isn&#039;t uncommon for a higher than normall batting average in play to be sustainable when coupled with a higher than normal ground ball percentage. A good example of this is with Ichiro.]]></description>
