The Quad Cities River Bandits are playing the Kane County Cougars tonight at Busch Stadium.  I’m going to be at the game (provided my flight is on time) and I’ll be the guy… I’ll just be the guy somewhere in the stadium.  How’s that for descriptive?   I’m certain I will be tweeting from the game at @jeff_underscore. Who’s going to the game?  Let’s hear it in the comments.  Viva El Birdos also has a thread for people attending the game so you can figure out how to bother Fritz.

Let’s take a look at the Quad Cities roster in cheat sheet format for you to print out before the game or access on some sort of smartphone during the game to make you look smarter to your friends and random people sitting around you.  It’s all after the jump. (natch)

The farm went a collective 3-0, while great pitching was the flavor of the night. Each team only gave up 1 run, while Springfield enjoyed a game off as they prepare for the introduction of Zack Cox.

The Cardinals shuffled their minor league rosters today, moving 1st round pick, Zack Cox up to AA Springfield per PBCardinals Twitter. Cox has burst out in Palm Beach with a wRC+ of 123 (100 being average for both league and park).

In a corresponding move, Niko Vasquez was moved from Springfield down to Palm Beach per Kary Booher of the Springfield News-Leader. Vasquez has a wRC+ of 85 this season after two seasons in a row of over 100 in Quad Cities and Palm Beach.

This has been mentioned in passing a few times but with the graduation of Eduardo Sanchez and Fernando Salas to mainstays in the Cardinals’ bullpen and the knee injury to Adam Reifer, suddenly a farm system that looked rich in right handed relief prospects seems lacking.  We’ll traverse the system looking for pitchers who could be the next prominent relief prospect.
