Archive for June, 2011Two important pitching debuts tonight. The organization saw some comebacks, both wins and losses. Nice to see some power in the DFRs that may not have been there in years past. Also great to see a Rasmus providing some highlights again for those of us living in our mother’s basement, breathing into brown paper bags. On to the DFR! Inspired by the Kevin Goldstein podcast below from Pitchers Hit Eighth, I wanted to take a look at Zack Cox and his struggles so far in Springfield. A quick look after the jump.

The farm went 2-3 overall on a night that didn’t feature much offense, as Springfield goes into the All-Star Break. There was one team that erupted for 8 runs, so check out who that was after the break!

The club hasn’t been shy about moving top performers though including Carlos Martinez’s promotion to Palm Beach that was announced yesterday. Here’s a list of candidates who also look like they’re ready to make the leap to the next level. This broke yesterday, but per Quad Cities Times, and first here by commentor Richard Rich (Can I call you Richie?): Carlos Martinez has been promoted to Palm Beach. The Cardinals aggressive promotions for their top prospects continue. |
