A billion to one. Still, with that much depth on the pitching side, I think the Cards could afford to go a little light on arms. There will plenty of system filler types available later on, and they have to feel pretty good about their stable of actual prospect arms. Going heavy on pure athletes is an interesting tactic, and one I don’t mind.

My stepson Jylan (a phenom himself) and his buds just came running in and advised me that CJ has been drafted by the Cards. They all attend CJ’s former high school- Clear Creek. I knew CJ was going places, not only because of his athleticism, but his attitude toward life and his commitment to being the best he can be. I had told Jylan to emulate CJ when it comes to how to live life and approach athletics and academics. I can only hope that he will do just that and good things wil come his way as they are coming for CJ. CJ, godspeed in all your future endeavors. We will be praying for you and following your career. It was one of my great pleasures to have met you, most of all because of the type of young man that you are.

Great to see a coach jump in here for input. Hope he lives up to his high selection. Seems like an extreme athlete.

I always liked Chuck, glad to see we drafted his son. I look forward to seeing him put his athleticism on display for the Cards.

I was CJ’s high school coach and also a lifelong Cardinals fan. I am so excited to be a Cardinals fan. THey are getting an exceptional young man and amazing athlete. CJ exploded this year into an incredible baseball player and the Cardinals are very fortunate to get a player and a young man of his caliber. He was an absolute stud on the gridiron to. For those of you who don’t know, he is the son of long time MLB pitcher Chuck McElroy.
