Twenty Seven Draft Picks Signed
Posted on June 13th, 2011 by Jeff in 2011 MLB Draft, tags: Casey Rasmus, Lance JeffriesThe Cardinals so far have signed 27 draft picks (per CardsInsider on Twitter – official Cardinals account) which includes Lance Jeffries and Casey Rasmus (36th round).
UPDATE - Ryan Sherriff (28th round) has a picture of himself and another guy in Cardinals gear in a locker room. I’ll assume he is one of the 27.
BJ Rains also has 7th rounder Nick Martino signed as well (4 of 27 found)
I’m working to get the rest of the names. Please drops links in the comments if you find reports of other signage.

Nice to see so many names getting signed so quickly. No high picks and not many of our more exciting later picks but those are always the ones you assume will require overslot deals.
Good to see Tyler Mills sign. Also catcher Jonathan Keener. Play ball.
It’s nice to have so many signings, including a solid block from 7-13, so quickly.
The 13th round pick is important. We have used them on Albert Pujols, Steve Hill, and Matt Carpenter. This year, we have a new Kolby, with a K.
Mike Knox can become the new Matt Adams.
Where will Stienstra play next year? 2B?
Am I missing something or is Lance Jeffries going to Palm Beach? The Post-Dispatch had that as well. That seems way aggressive for a high schooler, and I am assuming it means he will be sent to the Jupiter complex to workout and maybe practice with those guys in order to see where he best fits in the organization. Does anyone else find this odd?
The GCL Cards, where he’ll start, play in Jupiter/Palm Beach.
He’s going to our affiliate in the Gulf Coast League. Same complex, different team.
Yet again, I’m too slow with the reply.
Still though, “different team” cannot be emphasized enough. GCL is as low in the organization a draft pick can start out.
Thanks, everyone. It didn’t make sense for good reason, I appreciate the replies.
Jeffries is one of the more exciting guys from this draft
