Roberto de la Cruz needs to make it to QC and have some success there by the end of the year. Strong start to the year, though it is only 2 games. He does have two errors already, however.
Raniel Rosario has been disappointing this season. He’s not been terrible, First Inning has him as at a 105 OPS+, but it’s not much for a twenty two year old corner out fielder in High A. Last year’s .279 ISOP and 15% walk rate are looking more and more like aberrations as his season totals look a lot more like his career totals of .115 and .9.4%. What’s worse is he is hitting 57% of his balls on the ground.
I had high hopes, and he still has some time to turn those tools we heard about into performance, but it needs to happen sooner rather than later.
Wow, the Springfield Cardinals team needs major help in there pitching staff. Only Shelby Miller and Freeman have been helping the team. Shelby did very well in PB and continues to shine in Springfield. I had high hopes for Thomas, he did great in PB but he’s declining so has Blazek and Kropp. They truly need to find there rythem if they hope to make the playoffs there.
Additon got called up so that took a good pitcher away from them. Cleto will be returning to them shortly though. Kopp was taken off the 40 man roster today.
Overall, you’re right though. AA has had some pitching problems this season.
I agree with you JB. Addition has a lot of potential. I don’t know what the Springfield staff can do to help this team. They need pitchers!!! I know the minors is to develop players but competition is also important. Losing game after game doesn’t help there moral. Jermaine Curtis pitched a better inning yesterday then the pitchers themselves and he is not even a pitcher. Am listening to the game now and it’s embarrassing. Arkansas is doing batting practice with the Springfield pitchers. 12-3.
