The organization saw some comebacks, both wins and losses. Nice to see some power in the DFRs that may not have been there in years past. Also great to see a Rasmus providing some highlights again for those of us living in our mother’s basement, breathing into brown paper bags.

Matt Adams went deep in the AA All-Star game. Ryan Jackson went 1-2 with a double.
Lurch is unstoppable. I now see it was wrong to suggest that the Cards are best served by leaving him in AA for the remainder of 2011. There is only so much credit he can be given for continuing to mash AA. If this continues, might as well send him up and see what he can do @ AAA. He is not a high ceiling prospect that the organization would normally treat with softer hands. Nice to see a Rasmus name in the DFR.
I was surprised to see Sam Freeman pitch 1 2/3 in that game. I assume most of the other guys throwing 1 inning each were starters. Then a reliever — possibly a future LOOGY at that — gets 5 outs.
I’m glad he got the work, but I can’t remember the last time I saw that in an AS game.
I think Freeman only pitched the sixth inning. I saw on the News-Leader that he pitched 1 2/3, but milb shows just the one inning.
Is there anywhere to see or read highlights from the AA all-star game? I was supposed to go to it, but travel plans changed.
The official website for the Springfield Cardinals has an MiLB story about it with the MVP Darnell listed in the headline.
Tough night for Roberto De la Cruz – 4 K’s in 4 ab’s.
Ah, the golden sombrero.
